BSc BArch(Hons)
GradDiplCons(AA) ARB RIBA SCA

Anthony is a Senior Associate at Burrell Foley Fischer where he has worked principally on a selection of performance and cultural projects. Starting with BFF as his year out job between degree and diploma, Anthony has grown with the practice and has a great depth of technical and detailing knowledge in the specialist world of the performing arts.

He has an interest in the use of emerging technologies and has worked with the practice to integrate the latest industry tools and techniques, such as BIM processes and 3D visualisations. He is part of the practice sustainability workgroup looking to promote low impact, climate resilient buildings and create a sustainable work culture in the studio.

Anthony’s experience includes a range of education, residential, and performing arts buildings, encompassing works to historically sensitive listed buildings such as the grade II* listed Hall For Cornwall, through to cutting edge new build facilities such as the Digital Aviation Research Technology Centre (DARTeC).

BFF’s multi-award winning refurbishment and remodelling of the Grade II* listed Hall For Cornwall increased its audience capacity, conserved and restored its important heritage elements and brought them into better use. Anthony was the Project Architect and developed the detailing packages that drew together the technical requirements for the new auditorium and followed them through with the multiple specialist sub-contractors on site.

He is currently working on a refurbishment and extension to the Malvern Theatres complex, incorporating a new 250 seat Studio Theatre, adaptable rehearsal spaces, and outdoor amphitheatre, along with a renovation to the 800 seat Forum theatre, and new back of house spaces including dressing rooms and offices.

Specialising in both Sustainable Built Environment and 21st Century Culture/ Technology during his Masters degree, Anthony attempts to draw on these diverse influences in his work. He has an interest in Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) construction, a green technology which is gaining popularity in Europe and the UK due to its practicality as a construction material, and its laudable sustainability credentials.  He has had the opportunity to work on several projects successfully using this technology at BFF, delivering successful results at Kingham Hill School, Sherborne Girls School, Hurstpierpoint College, and most recently the new studio extension at the Malvern Theatres.
