DE MONTFORT HALL

CLIENT: leicester city council

LISTED GRADE II

The De Montfort Hall is a Grade II listed building designed by Stockdale Harrison and Son, built in 1913 in a fine civic garden setting. It is a building of particular significance within the city of Leicester.

The client’s brief was to refurbish and improve the hall as an adaptable space suitable for a variety of events, while providing improved facilities for performers and customers.

The refurbishment included major technical improvements to the hall and provision of a new raked seating, creating a variety of seating formats. Improvements to the front of house areas include a new box office, bars, a kiosk and lounge facilities.

A new, predominately glazed extension houses bar facilities and a terrace overlooking a garden.
