THE ROYAL SOCIETY HISTORY OF SCIENCE CENTRE
CLIENT: THE ROYAL SOCIETY
LISTED GRADE I
The Royal Society's History of Science Centre was created following the refurbishment of the space previously occupied by the Society's library in its headquarters at 6-9 Carlton House Terrace.
The refurbishment provides study, exhibition and meeting facilities in an atmosphere that reflects the Society's commitment to excellence and inspiration while simultaneously providing for the safekeeping of the collections.
At the heart of the Centre is the library's collection, both as study and display material. The Centre provides a unique environment where leading historians and scientists can convene to generate fresh insights into the history of science.
It also organises a varied programme of events in order for members of the general public to engage with scientific history in the setting of The Royal Society.
